Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple

It is a very famous temple that was built in 7th century. The thousand pillar hall is a marvellous architectural beauty. Those who like architecture and sculptures must visit this place. Other important temples are Thriupparankundram Murugan Temple, Koodal Azhagar Temple, Pazhamudhir Solai and many others.

Gandhi Museum

Gandhi Museum has many pictures of Gandhi, his personal belongings, replicas and many others. Many cultural programs would be conducted in an open air theatre here. There is a vast library in this museum.

Samanar Hills

It is a hill with caves that were used by Jainism saints in 1 AD. There are a lot of sculptures and cave carvings in those caves. On the top of the hill, a natural ancient fountain called Pechchi Palam can be found.

Thirumalai Nayak Palace

It is a 17th century palace that was built in Indo –Sacrenic architectural style. 3/4th of the palace is in ruin. You can enjoy the architectural marvel and a light show that happens every evening.

St. Mary Cathedral

It is an old Roman Catholic Church. It has Continental style architecture. This church was built in 19th century and was redesigning in the beginning of 20th century.
