Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary

This is an important reason for many tourists to visit Kanchipuram. It is the first bird sanctuary in the country. It is spread over 74 acre of land and has delightful view. You can find a lot of migration birds in this place. The best time to visit this sanctuary is between October and March.

Temples Kanchipuram

This district is famous for its temples. Devarajaswami Temple is an ancient temple. A 10 meter statue is immersed in a tank in this temple. The water in the tank is drained once every four decades to view the statue.
The oldest structure in the city is Ekambareswarar Temple which was built in 2nd century. It has ancient structure. A mango tree in this temple is about 3000 years old.
Kamakshi Amman temple of 7th century has a beautiful architecture and also has a gallery opened for tourists. Pallavan styled temple in this city is the Kailasanathar Temple. It is an 8th century temple with unique stone carvings.
