1. Golconda Fort, Hyderabad (Telangana)

Built by the Kakatiya dynasty, Golconda Fort is located around 15 kms from Hyderabad and was built before 10th century. 2. Amer Fort, Jaipur ( Rajasthan)

This fort located some 12 km away from Jaipur in Amer of Rajasthan state India , is huge and artistic. Related to Princess Jodha and Mughal Emperor Akbar, this fort has become the UNESCO world heritage site. Made of pale yellow and pink sandstone with white marble, this palace is divided into four sections. Located high on the hills, Amer fort has become the major tourist attraction in Jaipur.

3. Red Fort, Agra (Uttar Pradesh)

Yes, The Red Fort in Agra that is situated beside the renowned Taj Mahal, is a site not to miss out on. This fort is just 2 kms away from The Taj, and talks all about size and nobility. The fort is situated on the banks of Yamuna River and was the first home of Sikander Lodi before it was passed on to the other rulers.

4. Raigad Fort, Mahad (Maharashtra)

Around 150 kms form Mumbai, Riagarh is situated on a hill which is located near Mahad town on the Konkancoastline. The fort was seized and pronounced as the capital of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji in 1674 AD when he was crowned as the Maratha King. This amazing fort is 800 meters in height from the sea level with about 1700 steps. The fort is a favorite for tourist who want to go trekking till the top.
