Location – Rameshwaram, TN
This is an important temple of Lord Shiva. This is where Lord Ram did rituals for forgiveness for all crimes and evil that he committed during the war again Raavan. This temple has the country’s longest corridor. One could see the imprints of Hanuman’s tail on one of the lingams in the temple.
#3. Brihadeeswarar Temple
Location – Thanjore, TN
This temple is also called as Big Temple. It is a heritage site that was built 1000 years ago using granite. It is a temple of Lord Shiva. The tower of this temples is the tallest in the world and many interior structures and deities are built with a single stone. There are many mural paintings too.

Location – Mysore, Karnataka
This temple gets its name from the Chamundi hills on which this temple is located. This temple’s main deity is Shakti or Chamundeswari. It is an important tourist destination in Mysore. The doors of this temples are made with gold and silver. This hill temple is located 3000m above from the ground level.

Location – Hyderabad, AP

#7. Padmanabhaswamy Temple
Location – Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala
This temple is one of the oldest temple and one of the very few temples in which Lord Vishnu is in a sleeping posture. It is said that Lord Balram once visited this temple. There is an Othakalmadapam that is completely built with a single rock. This temple is also famous for a huge treasure that was recovered recently.

Location – Trichy, TN
This temple is the first of the top 108 temples of Lord Vishnu. This temple is said to be built on 156 acres of land. The tower of this temple is 237 feet high and has eleven tiers. A brick wall was built to protect the temple from Muslim invaders in 13th century. This is the largest functioning temple in the world.
